Center for Clinical Studies Borstel

Welcome at the Center for Clinical Studies Borstel. As a central part of the Research Center Borstel our unit is located at the interface between basic molecular life sciences and clinical care for medical patients.

Focussed on translational research, we promote close co-operations between basic scientists, physicians, scientific and medical associations, and the pharmaceutical industry. Our expertise includes the conceptual design, organisation and conduct of clinical studies (phase I, II, III) on patients, healthy study participants and biomaterials.

In accordance with the mission of the Research Center Borstel we investigate transmissible and non-transmissible respiratory diseases. The spectrum of diseases we investigate includes asthma, allergy, bronchiectasis, COPD, pneumonia, tuberculosis, non-tuberculous mycobacteria, weaning, bronchial carcinoma among other illnesses affecting the airways.
